Dieser fängt in seinen Bildern die Stim- mung in Japan nach dem Unglück in dem Atomkraftwerk Fukushima ein. Direkt nach der Katastrophe wurde die Bevölkerung dazu aufge- rufen, Energie zu sparen. „Für ein Land, dessen Lebenselixier bisher Strom war, ist es keine leichte Aufgabe, nun das Licht auszuschalten“, so Clauss. Mit leicht ironischem Tenor zeigt er in seiner Fotostrecke die kollektiven Bemühungen der Bevölkerung, Energie einzusparen und damit den Zielvorgaben der Regierung nachzukommen, 25 % Energie- verbrauch zu reduzieren. In his photographs, Clauss captures the mood in Japan after the accident at the nuclear power plant in Fukushima. Right after the disaster, the population was asked to save energy. “In a country whose lifeblood had been electricity, it was not easy for people to turn off the lights”, says Clauss. With a slightly ironic tone, he shows in his photo series Japanese people’s collective efforts to save energy and thus meet the government’s target of cutting energy use by 25 %.
