22 Fotostrecke | dialog09 Trash People Der Aktionskünstler HA Schult ließ bereits seit 1996 seine stumme Ar- mee der „Trash People“ um die Welt wandern. Eintausend Figuren aus Müll trotzten stumm der Witterung und standen mahnend an beeindru- ckenden Orten wie den Pyramiden, dem Roten Platz in Moskau oder der chinesischen Mauer. Der Höhepunkt der Ausstellung fand 2011 in der Arktis unter dem Titel „Endzeit am Nordpol“ statt. Mit den 1.000 Skulpturen aus Dosen, Kanistern, Computerschrott und Müll möchte der Künstler auf die Verschwendung in unserer jetzigen „Müllepoche“ aufmerksam machen. Die Installation an den unterschiedlichen Orten weltweit wurde von den Fotografen Thomas Höpker und Gianluca Battista in beeindruckenden Bildern dokumentiert. Die Kunstprojekte thematisieren aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven die Verantwortung, die der Mensch für seine Umwelt trägt. People’s responsibility for the environment – two artistic investigations: “Trash People” and “Power from the People”. The art projects engage with the responsibility people bear for their environment from two different perspectives. Trash People The performance artist HA Schult has had his silent army of “Trash Peo- ple” roam the world since 1996. One thousand standing figures silently defied the elements, sending out a warning in impressive places such as the Egyptian pyramids, Red Square in Moscow, and the Great Wall of China. The highlight of the exhibition took place in the Arctic in 2011 entitled, “Endgame at North Pole”. With some 1,000 sculptures made of cans, canisters, computer waste, and garbage, the artist wants to draw attention to waste in the current “era of garbage”.
