Unter den Gewinnern sind namhafte Architekturbüros wie Toyo Ito Architects, Foster & Partners – die bereits zweimal den Award erhielten – oder die spanische Architekturfirma Santiago Calatrava. Eine international besetzte Jury aus Architekturexperten bewertet jährlich Gebäude, die eine Mindesthöhe von 100 Metern oder 30 Etagen erreichen, nach Gestaltung und Funktionalität. Neben dem bereits auf den Seiten 42 bis 47 vorgestellten Hotel Porta Fira in L´Hospitalet de Llobregat nahe Barcelona von Toyo Ito Architects, dem Mitte 2011 der begehrte Emporis Skyscraper Award 2010 verliehen wurde, schafften es zwei weitere Schüco Referenzobjekte unter die Top 10: Capital City in Moskau und Torre Telefónica Diagonal ZeroZero in Barcelona. The international Emporis Skyscraper Award has been presented by the Emporis database in Frankfurt since 2000. The winners have included renowned architectural offices such as Toyo Ito Architects, Foster & Partners – which have received the award twice – and the Spanish architecture company Santiago Calatrava. Each year, an international jury of architecture experts evaluates buildings that are at least 100-meters-high or at least 30-stories-high in terms of design and functionality. In addition to the winner of the Emporis Skyscraper Award 2010, Hotel Porta Fira (see pages 42 to 47) in L´Hospitalet de Llobregat, near Barcelona, designed by Toyo Ito Architects, two other Schüco reference buildings came in the top ten: Capital City in Moscow and Torre Telefónica Diagonal ZeroZero in Barcelona. Exkurs: Emporis Skyscraper Award Excursus: Emporis Skyscraper Award Die Bauarbeiten an den Zwillingstürmen Capital City im neu- en Geschäftszentrum Moscow International Business Center (MIBC) am Ufer der Moskva in Moskau wurden im Jahr 2009 beendet. Der „St. Petersburg Tower“ umfasst 62 Etagen, der „Moskva Tower“ 73 Etagen und führt mit einer Höhe von 303,3 m die aktuelle Liste der höchsten Gebäude Europas an. Im Sockel des multifunktionalen Komplexes sind Restaurants und Geschäfte untergebracht, sowie Spa und Fitnesscenter. Darüber befinden sich Büros bis zum 17. Stockwerk. Der priva- te Bereich mit Luxusapartments beginnt im 19. Geschoss, die Exklusivität nimmt nach oben hin zu. Als Bauherr verpflichtete die Capital Group Holding für die Pla- nung namhafte Experten, um den Erfolg des Projekts sicherzu- stellen: 2011 wurde es von der international besetzten Jury im Capital City, Plot 9, Moskau Moscow/RUS, NBBJ, Seattle/USA Construction of the Capital City twin towers in the new Mos- cow International Business Center (MIBC) on the banks of the Moskva River was completed in 2009. While St. Petersburg Tower has 62 floors, Moskva Tower has 73, rising to a height of 303,3 m, making it Europe’s highest building. Restaurants and stores, as well as a spa and fitness center, are housed in the base of the multifunctional complex. Above it, there are offices up to the 17th story.
