Rav and Joti Dhuna have refurbished and built homes for many clients through their company, the Design, Renovation and Build Team. In 2019, the couple put their skills to use redesigning their own family home and office in Farnham Royal, South Buckinghamshire.

The Bifold Door Factory in West Drayton, Middlesex fabricated the Schüco products in Rav and Joti’s home.

The company had originally fabricated and installed Schüco ASS 70 FD bi-fold doors in Rav’s car showroom (now converted office), making them the natural choice for providing the doors and windows for the new house.

The Schüco products in the home include seven metre-wide central-opening bi-fold doors at the back of the house, a smaller three-pane bi-fold door to the front, a 2.5 metre-wide ADS 75 front door and bespoke AWS 70.HI gable end opening windows.

Dean Jalaf, Sales Manager at Bifold Door Factory, says: “It was a pleasure working with Rav on this project. There are some great products in the house, like the Schüco front door and the ASS 70 FD bi-fold used as a garage door.

“We enjoy working with Schüco. The products are nice to work with, they are good quality and all fit together well. We don’t have any issues with the fabrication and when it’s all in place, it looks good.”

The biggest challenge on this project was the shaped windows at the front of the house. Rav had been told by other fabricators that the triangular design couldn’t be made as an opening window. They had suggested using square windows that opened, with a separate triangular pane of glass above, but this would have compromised the design.

Rav says, “Bifold Door Factory were the only company I spoke to who were confident enough to make these windows. They used a bespoke Schüco solution to design gable end windows that open. They are fitted with child safety catches and meet all the appropriate regulations.”

The modern, light-filled home now meets the family’s needs while also acting as a showroom for Rav’s design and build business.
