Allotment process

The Ultra Low Carbon+, Ultra Low Carbon and Low Carbon aluminium grades are supplied in accordance with the allotment process. This means that no distinction is made between the different material grades during delivery. The delivered profiles can comprise standard, ULC+, ULC or LC aluminium, irrespective of the particular order.

Ultra Low Carbon Profil von Schüco

Low Carbon, Ultra Low Carbon and Ultra Low Carbon+ aluminium profiles in an allotment process – what does that mean?

Schüco Low Carbon (LC), Ultra Low Carbon (ULC) and Ultra Low Carbon+ (ULC+) profiles are distributed in accordance with the allotment process. The focus is on ensuring that ordered profiles reach their destination as efficiently as possible via short transport routes. In order to guarantee this, we do not distinguish between the different material grades of Standard aluminium, Low Carbon aluminium, Ultra Low Carbon aluminium and Ultra Low Carbon+ aluminium during storage and delivery. This isn’t necessary at all, as the material grades cannot be distinguished from one another chemically, mechanically or geometrically.

The relevant CO₂ savings occur beforehand during production. LC, ULC and ULC+ aluminium have a significantly lower carbon footprint and therefore a lower Global Warming Potential (GWP) compared to standard aluminium. The delivered profiles can comprise standard, LC, ULC or ULC+ aluminium, irrespective of the particular order.

Everything you need to know about the allotment process

  • By ordering Schüco Low Carbon, Ultra Low Carbon and Ultra Low Carbon+ profiles, you are helping to save CO₂ in the construction industry and promote the use of recycled material.

  • The allotment process prevents unnecessary transport routes and keeps storage as streamlined as possible. This helps to reduce additional emissions.

  • The processes at the input and output stages are externally certified by DEKRA.

  • You will receive all the necessary certificates when you order aluminium containing recycled material.

Why order LC, ULC or ULC+ aluminium?

In order to ensure and verify that CO₂ will be saved in your project and that recycled material will be used in the production of new profiles, Schüco has its balance of purchased and sold recycled aluminium certified by DEKRA. In this way, we can ensure that we purchase at least as much LC, ULC and ULC+ aluminium as is ordered from us. If you order LC, ULC or ULC+ aluminium, you can therefore rest assured that this will result in a corresponding reduction in CO₂ emissions during production by Schüco.
