Panorama Design sliding door

A Panorama Design sliding door – often called a frameless sliding door – is a particularly elegant and modern door solution with extra-slim or virtually concealed frames. The focus here is on large areas of glass to let as much light as possible into the house and ensure that the view outside is barely obstructed by the frames. This creates a seamless transition between the inside and outside, and an incredibly spacious, open living area.

Classic Design

First lift, then slide open: this special feature characterises the Schüco Classic Design sliding door. To open the sliding door, the user first turns the handle to lift the vent and then pushes it to the side. Thanks to smart technology, lifting the vent is made easier and the effort required is minimised. Lift-and-slide doors can be opened either to the left, to the right or from the centre in two directions, and can slide along up to three tracks: this allows not only for large opening widths but also a wide variety of opening configurations.

Folding design

Folding sliding doors enables the door units to be moved to the side and folded together to form slim, compact stacks, for maximum openness. You can therefore enjoy a generous opening straightaway. You can decide whether the units will be folded inwards or outwards, in just one direction or to the left and right like curtains. Whichever opening type you choose, the vents will glide silently on roller carriages guided along tracks at the top and bottom, leaving you with a spacious doorway. You also have the option to quickly go outside through a side-hung door, without having to fully open the folding sliding door.

Effective burglar resistance

Patio doors and floor-to-ceiling units are common targets for burglars. The police therefore recommend resistance class RC 2 for enhanced protection. This class withstands attempted break-ins for significantly longer than standard configurations. For even greater security, sliding doors are also available in the higher resistance class RC 3.

FAQs

Why choose Schüco sliding doors?

Sliding doors from Schüco create bright rooms flooded with light, and open up your home to the outside. Large glass surfaces, wide openings and narrow face widths ensure an open living space and a flowing transition between indoors and outdoors. At the same time, the rooms themselves benefit because there are no swinging door leaves to get in the way, allowing the available space to be used more effectively. Added to this are high energy efficiency, a wide range of design options in terms of materials, colours and surface finishes, as well as various opening types to suit different lifestyle needs. The high-quality fittings technology ensures that even heavy, triple-glazed units can be moved silently with minimal effort.

How secure are Schüco sliding doors?

Sliding doors from Schüco can be fitted with components that enable them to meet high requirements in terms of burglar protection. Depending on the system and configuration, burglar-resistant designs are possible, ensuring that large glass surfaces and wide openings are not compromised for the sake of security. Not only is the glass important here, but also the combination of profile, fittings, locks and professional installation. This is especially important in private residential construction, as sliding doors are often easily accessible transitions from patios or gardens. Security features can therefore be tailored to the house, location and personal protection requirements. Sliding doors can also achieve resistance class RC3, which can even withstand serious attempts to break in using lever tools.

Which material for sliding doors: aluminium or PVC-U?

The material is especially important in sliding doors, as large openings, lots of glass and a smooth transition to the outside are often sought-after. Aluminium sliding doors are best suited to large formats, slim profiles and a modern, high-quality design with lots of transparency. PVC-U sliding doors are great options when the focus is on excellent thermal insulation, ease of use and a good price/performance ratio. Both materials can be matched to your home in terms of colour and function. The deciding factor is therefore whether you want to focus on maximum openness and large glass surfaces, or on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

What type of sliding doors are there?

Classic sliding doors, lift-and-slide doors and folding sliding doors are very popular in private residential construction. Lift-and-slide doors are very well suited to large openings and easy operation, because the vent is raised before being moved to the side and opened. Folding sliding doors create particularly large opening widths, as the units can be moved to the side and folded together to form compact stacks. Traditional sliding doors are a good solution where the focus is on large glass areas, plenty of daylight and a flowing transition to the outside. Panorama designs are also possible depending on the system. Which sliding door design will best meet your requirements depends on the opening width, space available, desired comfort and design. Configure your Schüco sliding door according to your needs.
