Ownership structures and legal form

From 1964, Schüco International KG was owned by the OTTO FUCHS limited partnership, a leading international company in the non-ferrous metals industry.

In 2020, both companies were transferred to a holding structure. Since then, Schüco and OTTO FUCHS have been operating as independent subsidiaries under the umbrella of OTTO FUCHS Beteiligungen KG.

Activities and supply chain

The Schüco Group develops and sells system solutions for windows, doors, façades, sliding systems, sun shading systems, ventilation systems and fire protection systems, which are available in the form of around 500 series in total. We also work with our partners to create individual special constructions. Added to this are approximately 50 different fabrication machines, as well as planning, drawing, calculation and project management software. A wide range of comprehensive customer training courses rounds off the product portfolio.

Our core competencies lie in development, procurement, distribution and consultation. This includes advice on certifications, design using sustainable systems, and help with environmental product declarations. We offer solutions for all phases of a building project – from the initial idea, design, fabrication and installation all the way through to after-sales service including maintenance and servicing.

Schüco operates its own production facilities within the PVC business segment. These are consolidated under Schüco Polymer Technologies KG, a wholly owned subsidiary that develops, manufactures, and markets PVC-based system solutions. These production activities complement the Group’s sales and service-oriented business units.

With 6,746 employees worldwide, we are working on becoming the leading provider of circular solutions and services for sustainable building envelopes. In order to achieve this aim, we consistently focus on the needs of our customers, which include architects, planning offices, investors and specialist metal fabrication and window construction companies all over the world.

Integrating sustainability into our product portfolio

As part of our strategic direction (“Strategy 2030”), we aim to consolidate and expand our position as a provider of integrated solutions for sustainable building envelopes in order to ensure the long-term viability of our business model.

Sustainability is an integral part of this strategic framework. Our focus is particularly on the further development of circular solutions and services for sustainable building envelopes.

Sustainable product innovations

With our products, we want to help reduce the carbon footprint of the building envelope throughout its entire life cycle and increase its recyclability – from planning right through to dismantling.

Profiles with a reduced carbon footprint

In metal constructionSchüco uses Low Carbon (LC)”, “Ultra Low Carbon (ULC)” and “Ultra Low Carbon+ (ULC+)” aluminium to produce profiles with a reduced carbon footprint. We are also providing our customers with low-carbon alternatives in the PVC-U division: The material class “RECYCLED PVC” contains a guaranteed proportion of recycled material while, for its “BIO-ATTRIBUTED PVC”, Schüco uses the non-fossil raw material tall oil, which is a by-product of paper production.

Building-integrated photovoltaics (BIPV)

A building with building-integrated photovoltaics can generate its own energy and then use this electricity to reduce CO₂e and lower its operating costs. Schüco offers a wide range of BIPV modules, which can be integrated with our façade systems in a customised

Recyclable products

A total of 75 aluminium systems from Schüco have been awarded the Cradle to Cradle certificate and are ideal for sustainable building due to their recyclability. Schüco has also developed a concept for a fully circular window under the name “AW Circular”. It aims to reduce the resources used, the emissions and the amount of waste produced over the entire life cycle of the product, while also helping to close material cycles. Different design options make it possible to choose whether to focus on material health, a smaller carbon footprint or the closure of resource loops.

Supply chain

Schüco works with national and international suppliers. We place great value on long-term business relationships that are based on collaborative teamwork. In this way, we also ensure that the quality of our products remains at a consistently high level. For the metal and PVC-U business divisions in Germany, the Purchasing department of Schüco International KG and Schüco Polymer Technologies KG has a list of around 360 direct product-related suppliers, including manufacturers of profiles, fittings and safety/security technology.

Information about the value chain

Schüco does not have any direct relationships with the raw material trade for aluminium and, instead, exclusively procures semi-finished and finished parts. For the Polymer business, the company purchases PVC and additives for PVC processing. As a founding member of the joint venture RE:CORE, which we operate together with the disposal company Remondis, in 2022 we also entered into the field of high-quality recycling of old windows made from PVC-U. With the founding of RE:CORE Metals GmbH in December 2024 and some initial pilot projects, we are gradually expanding the business area of collection and recycling to include further construction materials.

We do not have any figures relating to our indirect suppliers. However, our aim is to utilise our direct influence throughout the supply chain to improve transparency, quality and adherence to environmental and social standards. That is why we are involved, for example, with  Aluminium Stewardship Initiative and are members of the VinylPlus industry initiative.

Relevant activities in the reporting period

In February, Schüco International KG divested itself of its interior design division, Schüco Interior Systems KG. The Schüco subsidiary, based in Borgholzhausen, North Rhine-Westphalia, manufactures and distributes products and interior systems for industrial customers, including those in furniture and automotive industries. The new owner is the Cologne-based investor Rheingold Capital. The sale did not result in any changes to the employees’ employment relationships.

In April 2025, Schüco intensified its partnership with LIXIL, a global company based in Japan. LIXIL's medium-term goal is to use one hundred percent recycled aluminum by the 2031 financial year. The cooperation offers Schüco the opportunity to offer CO₂e-reduced aluminum products in both Europe and Southeast Asia and thus meet a growing global demand.

In July, Schüco acquired a stake in Asset Transformation GmbH, a subsidiary of Priedemann Holding GmbH. With this portfolio expansion, Schüco now offers investors a comprehensive range of solutions for the renovation of building envelopes. Asset Transformation GmbH supports its clients throughout the entire building life cycle. This includes initiation, planning, management, implementation, operation, data collection, digitalization and the energy-efficiency upgrade of building envelopes, taking into account economic and ecological life-cycle considerations.

The reuse of glass is becoming increasingly important in the construction industry. To promote glass recycling, Schüco is collaborating with Saint-Gobain Glass Germany. Together, the two companies aim to recover waste glass from existing buildings for the recycling cycle and to consolidate material flows. The Saint-Gobain Group is a leader in sustainable construction and is committed, among other things, to the equivalent recycling of flat glass. From collection and recycling, through the production of CO₂-reduced ORAÉ glass, to sustainable production processes, the company makes a significant contribution to closing material loops.

Einführung der Abteilung Digital Business

To strengthen its position in the field of integrated digital solutions, Schüco established a fourth market division in January 2026: the “Digital Business” division. This new division stands on an equal footing with the Metal Business, Polymer Business and Service Business divisions. It consolidates the portfolio of digital products and customer services and drives its further development. The aim: to drive targeted growth in the digital sector, attract new customers and strengthen the importance of digital solutions.
