A focus on local context

The building structure is located in the very heart of the city centre and impresses with its curved, organic shape – a characteristic feature of many of the designs from Zaha Hadid. The 28,000 m² Masaryčka office and retail building has seven storeys on the eastern side, while the western side stretches to nine storeys. Its golden colour scheme took inspiration from the historical buildings in Prague, which are often adorned with golden architectural details.

Dynamic façade

The Masaryčka building is characterised by its horizontal floor plan and dynamic façade, consisting of vertical and horizontal sheets of metal. These metal sheets appear to wrap around the structure and the varying lengths give the building an ascending appearance. This is particularly apparent on the western façade and creates visual movement that makes it seem like the building is alive. Numerous large-scale windows not only allow optimum use of daylight, but also offer impressive views of the city.
