Contemporary administrative architecture with a focus on transparency
The Brucity Administrative Centre in Brussels is a fully glazed building structure. The striking glass façade fulfils a range of functions: it maximises the entry of daylight, minimises shadowing over surrounding buildings and, in a more figurative sense, represents the transparency of democratic processes. Inside the building, work spaces for around 1600 employees are arranged in a circular formation around a central atrium, which sits at an elevated level above the publicly accessible ground floor.
