Efficient solutions for sustainable energy generation in buildings

In accordance with EU construction guideline “2010/31/EU”, from 2021 every new building in EU member states must be constructed as a “nearly zero energy building” with a largely compensated overall energy efficiency. In this context, the federal government of Germany is aiming to make a climate-neutral building economy a reality by 2050.

Against his background, the Schüco BIPV (Building Integrated Photovoltaics) photovoltaic modules provide efficient solutions for sustainable, future-ready property that is beneficial to investors, operators and the environment.

Within the context of the German energy-saving regulations (EnEV), the electricity generated in the modules may be subtracted from the calculated power requirements, which results in primary energy requirements that are as low as possible.

The use of BIPV modules in the façade is therefore not only a visible sign of environmental protection and sustainability, but also a key component for achieving nearly zero, zero or plus-energy buildings.

Fabrication benefits

  • Energy efficiency and the sustainable conservation of resources in one system
  • Regenerative electricity generation combined with safety and comfort functions for the building envelope
  • BIPV modules in Schüco quality: visually and electrically tested in accordance with IEC 61215 and IEC 61730
  • General building authority approval (abZ) as laminated safety glass
  • Custom-built BIPV modules: a rich variety of combinations of modern solar energy uses with individual architecture
