Flying high with pneumatic sealing
Schüco AS AL 75 Panorama Design sliding system
Bielefeld. High interacting wind loads, movements of the building, driving rain and high levels of noise pollution pose major challenges for weathertightness and comfort when it comes to sliding systems in high-rise residential construction. The solution lies in the gasket. air-lux have developed patented pneumatic sealing technology with a membrane-like function to guarantee consistently high performance. This technology is at the core of the new Schüco AS AL 75 sliding system (Aluminium Sliding air-lux, 75 mm basic depth), which was developed in collaboration with air-lux. The sliding system is intended for high-rise buildings in particular and features impressive weathertightness, design, smooth operation and sound reduction, winning the Red Dot Design Award 2022.

The Schüco AS AL 75 sliding system can withstand Class C4/B4 wind loads. Positive wind loads (see image on the left) and negative wind loads (see image on the right) act on the sliding unit. Thanks to its membrane-like function, the gasket adapts to these movements and closes the gap between the sliding vent and outer frame of the Panorama Design sliding door completely.

Active gasket technology with a membrane-like function: The constant pressure prevents impact noises caused by strong winds and does not allow any play.

The gasket technology becomes inactive at the touch of a button. The air is released, and the seal becomes inactive and returns to its rolled-up starting position. Opening and closing the sliding unit is therefore smooth and easy.
