Sustainability as a central design feature

Designed by Jonas Architectes Associés, the Lycée Edward Steichen in Clervaux is an exemplary contribution to modern educational architecture. Built on a former industrial site and located near to the railway line, the building impresses with its carefully coordinated integration into the surrounding landscape. Sustainability was an integral part of the architectural concept. Among other things, a highly insulated building envelope, natural ventilation systems and photovoltaic systems on the roof surfaces contribute to the energy efficiency of the building. Particular attention was paid to the entry of natural light, which is clearly evident in the design of the sports hall roof that is fitted with six generously sized toplights.

Odskúšané systémové riešenia Od septembra 2006 možno používať už len systémy ZODT (NRWG) (prirodzené odsávače dymu a tepla), ktoré prešli skúškami podľa normy DIN EN 12101-2. Pritom je nevyhnutné dbať o to, že sa jednotlivé komponenty sústavy otestovaného systému nesmú zamieňať. Tieto odsávače ponúkajú systémové riešenia, ktoré prešli skúškami podľa normy DIN EN 12101-2 pre mnohostranné a náročné možnosti použitia vo vertikálnych fasádach a presklených strechách. Zaručujú optimálnu projektovú a prevádzkovú bezpečnosť, ako aj účinnú ochranu ľudí a majetku. Ďalšia výhoda: Navyše možno prirodzené odsávače dymu a tepla používať na bežné vetranie, ako aj na klimatizáciu budovy.
