Creative interplay of spatial volumes

Private home near Hamburg

Modernity and functionality do not have to mean a plain, white box – something that is expertly demonstrated by a family home in northern Germany designed by the architectural practice of Architekturbüro Scholz. The design is based on usage zones that can be clearly distinguished from the outside through visually separate cubes. These cubes then connect together on the inside to form a conceptual whole. The generously dimensioned façade unit which stretches from the living space to the terrace is simply spectacular. The construction comes from Schüco Jansen Steel Systems and is based on the VISS 50 system with imposing custom dimensions of 6.05 x 4.20 m.

The different functional areas can be perceived from the outside as individually shaped modules and are also distinct in terms of the façade design.
