A change of strategy

2012 The sun continues to give us free, clean energy, but the drop in prices for photovoltaic modules and falling demand overall triggered by reduced subsidies make it clear that a fundamental change of strategy is imperative. Schüco focuses its core business on the Metal and PVC-U divisions, concentrating on its own core competencies: windows, doors and façades.

2013 Schüco introduces the Parametric Concept and the new generation of SimplySmart fittings.

2014 Andreas Engelhardt takes on the role of Managing Partner. He was appointed Chairman of the Executive Management Board two years earlier.

Driving innovation

2015 The first passive house-certified aluminium window system is introduced: FWS 50 SI+ for mullion/transom façades. Further system innovations follow. The minimal face widths of the innovative Schüco FWS 35 façade system and the new ASS 77 PD sliding system enable almost frameless transparency. The FWS 60 CV façade system impresses with its concealed opening units. The Parametric System is the first three-dimensional façade system to be launched, with Schüco establishing a fully digital value-added process for it from planning through to construction.

2016 At the start of 2016, the entire PVC-U business is transferred to the Schüco Polymer Technologies KG subsidiary and the product portfolio is enhanced with the new Schüco LivIng system. In the same year, Schüco acquires a majority stake in EPS Systems GmbH & Co. KG based in Siegen, Germany, thereby adding the FACID textile façade to its product range.

The first Schüco aluminium systems become Cradle to Cradle certified.

Well placed for the future

2017 With the publication of its first sustainability report in line with the GRI-4 standard, Schüco is a pioneer for sustainability in the construction industry.

2018 Schüco extends its product portfolio. The acquisition of a shareholding in SÄLZER GmbH in Marburg represents a clear expansion by Schüco in the high-security sector. By acquiring Soreg AG, now Venuro AG, in Switzerland, Schüco further strengthens its focus on marketing and selling high-end sliding systems.

2019 Schüco takes even more responsibility for climate protection. Together with the WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature), the company sets ambitious carbon reduction goals to help limit global warming to 1.5 degrees. In addition, the company is aiming to achieve climate neutrality throughout the entire value chain by 2040.

2020 Another level of service: With the construction of the KIT fabrication centre for prefabricating assembly kits for Design sliding units, Schüco lays the foundation for quick and easy production for metal fabricators.
