Private Home Borken

Panorama Design for the best views

A clean language of design and a striking combination of materials characterise this family home designed by Hetkamp Architektur in the German town of Borken. The contrasting façades made from slim clinker bricks and organic natural stone visually connect the residential cubes together through timber clad units.

Transparent design – even across corners

The building's natural materials allow the impressive design to integrate into its lush green surroundings in a charming fashion. The large glass units of the Schüco Panorama Design sliding doors allow direct contact with the garden, so that the great attention to detail that has gone into the design of the outdoor area can also be experienced inside. The open-plan living area and the double-height dining area also offer impressive views of the garden through the highly thermally insulated Panorama Design façade with an integrated solution for all glass corners without profiles.

Efficient building automation and natural shading

Clever placement of individual broad-leafed trees provides natural shading in the summer months and the right amount of light penetration in winter. Another clever (and sustainable) feature is the mechatronic fittings of the Schüco window systems, which fulfil the highest requirements in terms of energy efficiency, ease of use and burglar resistance. When incorporated into the smart building automation system, this allows automated, natural ventilation to be achieved – such as time-controlled crack ventilation or energy-saving night-time cooling.
