Hybrid systems

A holistic solution with a combination of various different functional units or materials for a building can contribute significantly to reducing CO₂ and improve energy efficiency. For example, a permanently weather-resistant aluminium extension structure can be combined with a timber load-bearing structure as a regenerating raw material or a unitised façade may be combined with façade planting in order to decarbonise the building envelope. A solution with façade planting reduces the energy consumed indoors through its natural cooling effect, while the vegetation outdoors also binds more CO₂.

When selecting materials, you should always consider the intended function and use the material that is most beneficial and that incorporates as little CO₂ as possible into the construction. All installed materials must naturally also meet the specific building requirements.
