In a newbuild in Frechen, the art world meets modern living comforts to create a unique home. The large paintings and sculptures belonging to this art-loving family are not just for decorative purposes – they were the focus of the building plans by Kröger-Daniels Architekten BDA right from the very start. They created a building whose architecture provides the perfect stage for the exhibits without losing its homely character.

From the outside, the house with its cubic shape and uniform façade appears simple and subtle. However, as soon as you step through the entrance door, a light-filled living space unfolds before you, with the artworks taking center stage. This is achieved using open-plan rooms, large windows and Design sliding doors made from aluminum, which not only feature impressively easy handling and a slimline appearance, they also count towards the sustainability of the building envelope thanks to their Cradle to Cradle certification.
