PULSE Berlin is paving the way when it comes to sustainable commercial properties. The building sets new standards in terms of ecology and workplace quality thanks to the healthy and sustainable materials used during construction, the efficient water usage and the use of renewable energy sources.
Protecting resources, ensuring increased value
The newbuild was designed in accordance with the principles of the "Cradle to Cradle" (C2C) concept and received the DGNB Gold certificate. The building includes C2C-certified Schüco windows and façade systems. The concrete floors consist of a BubbleDeck flooring system which is filled with recycled plastic balls in order to save concrete, make the structure lighter and thereby reduce carbon emissions. Other components, such as the sound reduction walls, paint and carpets are also C2C-certified.
Green atrium
The heart of the seven-storey office building is the green atrium. The generous and light-filled space, the chosen materials (e.g. fast-growing bamboo for the stairway) and the abundance of plants create a natural room climate and a comfortable, relaxing atmosphere. The ground floor surrounding the atrium is accessible and open to the public and offers various restaurants. At the basement level is an underground garage with 64 parking spaces, charging stations for electric vehicles and racks for around 120 bicycles.
