Object Description

Designed by Oscar Niemeyer, the avant-garde concert house for the festival venue of Ravello on Italy‘s Amalfi Coast creates a futuristic vision. Similar to a bird‘s nest, the naturally curving round construction seems to sit on the edge of the coast. The white concert house, with its wave-like shape, can accommodate 500 visitors. The rows of seating are arranged as in an amphitheatre and slope down in the direction of the sea. Reminiscent of portholes, two large window or façade openings above the stage and as an entrance afford magnificent views of the sea and the surroundings from the inside.
