Environmental management system of Schüco successfully certified
Verification process
To calculate the carbon footprint of Schüco, data on CO2 emissions was gathered on energy consumed for production, lighting, cooling and heating all buildings, for transport logistics, business travel, journeys to and from work, as well as for paper and printing. All primary data was verified by TÜV NORD CERT and used to calculate the carbon footprint in accordance with standard TN-CC 020: 2011-08.
2011
Schüco is using its first CO2 balance to lay the foundations for the sustainable reduction of CO2 emissions, and improved energy and environmental management. This assessment took into account all greenhouse gases relevant to the climate that were produced in 2011 through company and production processes in Germany. When calculated as CO2 equivalents, this amounted to approx 74,000 tonnes. At more than 50%, the energy consumed by buildings, including for production, constituted the largest proportion, followed by transportation services, journeys to and from work, business travel, paper and printing.
