A model project for the future
Serial renovation in Düsseldorf
Düsseldorf. While everyone is busy talking about serial renovation, it is already being implemented in Düsseldorf-Urdenbach's Corelli Quarter. Rheinwohnungsbau GmbH will modernise a total of 140 apartments here by the end of 2026, bringing them up to the latest standards in energy efficiency. This project is one of the largest of its kind in Germany. Folding sliding systems from Schüco will play a crucial role here, transforming previous “problem area” loggias into high-quality living spaces, and thereby making a considerable contribution to the success of the project.

Problem area: Unlike the external walls, the loggias cannot be reinforced with pre-fabricated units using a timber frame construction method.

The solution: Forward-mounted aluminium folding sliding windows from Schüco. They upgrade the loggias, transforming them into living spaces that can be used year-round, while also ensuring that the project is eligible for funding.

The Schüco units can be opened up across almost the entire width of the space. The loggia can therefore be used like a balcony in the warmer months.

After the renovation: Aesthetically appealing building with a high level of user comfort. The Corelli Quarter is therefore a model example when it comes to serial renovation.
