42 11 Der Infinity Tower von Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates liegt im Herzen des Finanzzentrums der größten Stadt Brasiliens, São Paulo. Das 118 Meter hohe Bauwerk lässt in seiner dynamischen Form an ein aufgeblähtes Se- gel eines Schoners denken. Eine Vorhangfassade aus Schüco Aluminium Elementsonderkonstruktionen bilden die äußere, geschwungene Hülle, die sich um die 18 Bürogeschosse „wickelt“. Zum Schutz vor direkter Sonneneinstrahlung ist an jedem Fassadenelement eine Brise Soleil angeordnet; die gläserne Gebäudehülle erhält dadurch eine horizontale Gliederung. Auf den spitz zulaufenden Frontseiten bieten Balkone spek- takuläre Blicke über das ältere Zentrum der Stadt im Norden, die Avenida Paulista, und dem neueren im Süden. Eine Vielzahl an Wasserbecken, Brücken und Grünflächen auf Ebene der aufgeständerten Sockelzone binden den Neubau in die urbane Umgebung ein. Designed by Kohn Pedersen Fox Associates, the Infinity Tower is in the heart of the financial centre of Brazil’s largest city, São Paulo. The dy- namic shape of the 118-metre-tall building is reminiscent of the inflated sail of a schooner. A curtain wall made from special Schüco aluminium unit constructions forms the outer, curved envelope that “enwraps” the 18 office floors. To avoid direct solar radiation, there is a brise soleil posi- tioned on each façade unit, giving the glass building envelope a horizon- tal structure. The balconies on the pointed front sides offer spectacular views of the old city centre in the north, the Avenida Paulista, and the new centre in the south. A plethora of pools, bridges and green areas on the level of the elevated base zone connect the newbuild to its urban environment. Derzeit ist die Verwaltung der belgischen Stadt Seraing noch auf verschie- dene Bürogebäude verteilt. Den damit einhergehenden Kosten und dem hohen Energieverbrauch will man jetzt durch Unterbringung der Verwal- tung in einem einzigen Bau mit hohem energetischem Standard begeg- nen. Das Ergebnis ist ein moderner, zweckmäßiger Büroturm in Form einer Acht mit einem zentralen Lichthof. Die Verwaltung ist in Großraumbüros und teilweise in Einzelbüros auf den jeweils sechs um den Lichthof ange- ordneten Geschossen untergebracht. Das gesamte Gebäude ist von einer Laufgangkonstruktion umgeben, die auch als Beschattung dient. Dadurch soll die Sonneneinstrahlung reduziert werden, ohne die Ausleuchtung des Gebäudes zu beeinträchtigen. Gleichzeitig wird so der Bedarf an Kunstlicht minimiert. Schüco lieferte für das Gebäude die Außentüren ADS 90.SI, die Außenfenster-Systeme AWS 75.SI und AWS 75 BS.SI mit TipTronic Tech- nologie sowie das Sonnenschutzsystem CTB. The administrative services of the Town of Seraing, which are nowadays split into different costly and energy-consuming buildings, will be re- grouped in a new edifice with high energy performances. In this precise case, the result is a modern, sober, 8 shaped building, organised around a central atrium. The administration will be dedicated to the 6 free platforms around the atrium, set up in landscape offices and partially closed. A tubu- lar superstructure entirely surrounds the building, also used as a passage- way, balustrade and fixed stripes of solar protection. This combination is bound to diminish the solar supplies without reducing the lighting of the offices and therewhith, limiting the need of artificial lighting. The Schüco products that have been placed are the exterior doors ADS90.SI and the exterior windows with the systems AWS75.SI and AWS75 BS.SI with Tip- Tronic Technology as well as the system CTB for sun protection.
