Architectural redesign

The original building was designed in 1967 by renowned Dutch architect Frederik Willem de Vlaming. The building shell with its striking vertical concrete ribs remains the structural backbone of the building. The construction was complemented by the redesign of the ground floor and two upper floors, which are now horizontally structured and have been given a modern curtain wall façade. The clear contrast between the vertical load-bearing structure and the horizontal façade design creates a contemporary architectural expression, while still preserving the original character of the building.
