The new global headquarters of Ferrero houses work spaces for 1200 employees in a single building that were previously spread across five different sites. The concept plays on the idea of an Italian piazza, with a number of terraces overlooking the atrium of the two multi-storey offce wings. The sections of the building are connected by a series of walkways, while glass panoramic lifts facilitate travel between floors. The city within a city spans nine storeys and includes offce spaces, restaurants, fitness suites and multipurpose spaces, as well as parking. Custom profiles set the offce façades apart, with a flat face on the inside of the building and a slight relief effect on the outside to create the impression of continuous glass ribbons. A steel construction was used for the oversized glass façade at the main entrance due to its load-bearing capacity.
