Environmentally friendly cooling using solar energy

Schüco provides absorption cooling units with 15 kW and 30 kW cooling power, which has been specially developed for use with solar energy. For example, these unit sizes are absolutely ideal for offices, conference rooms and training centres, to combine a comfortable room temperature with environmental protection. On a south-facing roof, a 15 kW cooling unit requires a collector array with approx. 18 Schüco high temperature collectors; a 30 kW unit requires approx. 36 high temperature collectors. Units with an output greater than 30 kW are also available.

Proven technology in a new context

Cooling units with high cooling power (> 100 kW) have been working for years in combined heat and power generation without any problems. In conjunction with solar thermal collectors to drive the installation, the scaling of the installation to cooling power of 15 kW and 30 kW offers the option of cooling smaller offices from 200 m2. The Schüco cooling units work without electrical compressors. The tried-and-tested components for the cooling unit ensure the highest levels of reliability.
