Technical use

Solar energy can be used to generate electricity (Photovoltaics) or heat (Solar thermal transfer). Both of these options are separate technologies that use different components. Solar technologies can be used effectively as a back-up for conventional energy sources. It is conceivable that in the future, all our electricity could be generated through Photovoltaic technology and Solar thermal transfer could be used to cover up to 60% of our heating requirements.

Solar thermal - Helping the environment through private initiatives

Solar thermal is the most environmentally friendly way of reducing the energy consumption of a home in the long term. This prevents the emission of damaging greenhouse gases, thereby slowing down the rate of climate change, without affecting the qualty of heating in any way. Solar thermal systems are easy to integrate with existing heating systems, helping to make you that much less dependent of oil prices.
