Schüco implements solar energy system for “Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg”

Schüco,Solar Roof South Africa

Schüco International KG has implemented a solar energy system on the roof of the “Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg” (German International School Johannesburg). The installation is a joint project as part of the “Solar Roofs on  German Schools and Institutions Abroad” programme from the Deutsche Energie- Agentur GmbH (dena) – The German Energy Agency - and the German Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi). The system serves as a demonstration and reference project for future installations.

The Deutsche Internationale Schule Johannesburg has made a commitment to the future of an environmentally friendly energy generation with the installation of a Schüco solar energy system. The installation generates hot water with solar thermal and electricity from photovoltaics. The school now generates energy for its own use.

The new solar energy system makes the best possible use of solar radiation. Its solar thermal collectors supply energy for hot water for the kitchen and the school showers for up to 1200 users per day
