A Week in a Pros Life

Sunday, 11 p.m.: Flies back from a tournament in France, drives home from the airport in his private car. Finished in a tie for 42nd place, enabling him to earn his travel expenses and pay his caddie.

Monday, 8 a.m.: After running or fitness training, he’s off to the range or the golf course. May work on his swing with an instructor. In the afternoon packs his suitcase and makes his final travel preparations.
Monday, 7 p.m.: Flies to the next tournament in Scotland, rents a car at the airport and drives to the hotel, arriving there are midnight (local time).

Tuesday, 8 a.m.: Fitness training in the hotel gym (if the hotel has one), then drives to the golf course, meets with his caddie, warms up, hits a few balls.
Tuesday, 11 a.m.: A trial round with two tour colleagues, discusses his strategy with his caddie.
Tuesday, 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.: Practices on the range, concentrating on shots needed for this particular course.
Tuesday, 9 p.m.: An evening event with his equipment sponsor, fortunately at the same hotel.

Wednesday, 1.30 p.m.: The Pro-Am begins.
Wednesday, 5.30 p.m.: Is in the tour truck of the manufacturer of his golf clubs, fine-tuning the material. Should he put the new 3-wood in his bag? And with which shaft? 30-minute range training with various shaft options. Returns to the hotel, changes clothes.
• Wednesday, 8 p.m.: Shuttle service to a downtown hotel, a gala held by the tournament organizer, the Pro-Am prize ceremony. Drives home at 11 p.m.

• Thursday, 5 a.m.: Receives a wakeup call due to an early starting time.
• Thursday, 6 a.m.: Drives to the golf course, warms up on the driving range.
• Thursday, 7.30 a.m.: The tournament begins.
• Thursday, 1 p.m.: After the round, spends time on the driving range or practices his short game, depending on his needs.
• Thursday, 5 p.m.: Gets a massage from a physical therapist to ease the tension in his neck, subsequently has two interview appointments.
• Thursday, 7 p.m.: Dinner at the hotel with tour friends, watches TV, does a little stretching, checks flight connections on the Internet. Sleeps.

• Friday, 7 a.m.: Breakfast, then drives to the driving range. Trains.
• Friday, 1.30 p.m.: The second round begins. Bad news: If he misses the cut it will be too late for him to fly home on Friday.

• Saturday: Makes the cut. Starting time depends on his score.

• Sunday: Starting time depends on his score, flies home in the evening if possible.
