The Australian, who lives in the United States, has been a professional golfer since 1998. Two years later, he qualified for the US-based PGA Tour, where he finished in the top 100 in each of his first five seasons. Since then, Ogilvy has won numerous titles. Legendary among these is his triumph at the U.S. Open in 2006 when he became the first Australian ever to win this major. His victory at the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship in 2009 made Ogilvy the youngest player to win four tournaments in which world number one Tiger Woods had also competed. In March 2009, Ogilvy rose to 4th in the official world golf rankings, the highest position of his career so far. Geoff Ogilvy has already tasted success in 2010, winning the SBS Championship in January.
