The exeptional golfer from Anhausen is one of the world’s best golf players and the person who made golf popular in Germany. He was junior world champion back in 1979.

He has won 79 international tournaments so far, including two victoriees at the world´s most prestigious tournaments, the Masters in Atlanta on the U.S. PGA Tour. In 2001, Langer was inducted into the World Golf Hall of Fame, and in 2006 he was appointed an Honorary Officer of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire by Queen Elisabeth II. Furthermore, in 2008 and 2009 he won the Champions Tour Title “Player of the Year”. Langer’s most recent success in the year 2010 is the win of the Allianz Championship in his adopted home of Florida.

Along with Severiano Ballesteros, Nick Faldo, Sandy Lyle, and Ian Woosman, Bernhard Langer is one of the “Big Five,” a group of world-class golfers who were all born within 12 months of one another, have won at least one major tournament, and have enabled Europe to hold its own against the United States in the Ryder Cup.
