The Technology Centre perfectly implements the Schüco model “Energy² – Saving Energy and Generating energy“: thermal insulation and building automation ensure reduced energy consumption. Photovoltaics, solar thermal, geothermal and heat recovery generate electricity, heating and cooling. Schüco uses  solutions of the future for the STC building envelope at the company headquarters in Bielefeld: windows, doors, skylights and façades made of steel and aluminium, solar technology, building automation, access control, fire protection, security systems and solar shading.

This is a multipurpose building, which saves and generates energy under a comprehensive energy concept. Within just one generation, global climate change has developed from an abstract perceived risk to a tangible problem. Building the STC makes Schüco a symbol for environmentally aware and energy-saving building with a high level of architectural and functional quality. The aim was to reduce CO₂ emissions by 50% with the STC compared to the reference building defined in regulations under current operating conditions. Schüco has acheived this aim. The STC has made a positive contribution to climate  protection. 

The Schüco Technology Centre should be a model and reference for building attractive and energy efficient buildings.

Before being assessed by official test institutes, all of our new developments are tested here for their compliance with current industry standards. On the curtain wall test rig, we can test two-story curtain wall units under extreme loads and even simulate a hurricane or an earthquake. Schüco's system reliability, tested in the Technology Centre, helps architects and designers to create secure, approved solutions from their individual design ideas.

Technological expertise is one side, design and implementation the other. At Schüco, a high level of emphasis is placed on comprehensive consultancy with everyone involved in the building project, covering all technical and aesthetic questions. There are special software solutions for designers, architects, for sales staff and fabricators.
