Die Entscheidung zur Sanierung des Wohn- komplexes war für die Entwicklung des ganzen Stadtviertels von großer Strahlkraft: Das Ge- samtprojekt „Torenflat“ beinhaltete neben der Sanierung des großformatigen Blocks den Neu- bau eines Gesundheitszentrums, der gleichzei- tig als Eingangsbau für das Wohnhochhaus dient. Das neue Gesundheitszentrum, mit einer Gesamtfläche von 2000m2 , wurde ebenfalls von Frowijn de Roos Architecten geplant. In dem zweigeschossigen Gebäude befinden sich unter anderem eine Apotheke, Hausärzte, Phy- siotherapeuten und ein Sozialhilfe-Zentrum, das allen Bürgern in Zeist zur Verfügung steht. Das Projekt „Torenflat“ setzt somit weitreichen- de und zukunftsweisende Zeichen — energe- tisch, wirtschaftlich und sozial. The decision to refurbish the building complex has had an impact on the development of the entire neighborhood. In addition to the refur- bishment of the “Torenflat” block itself, a new 2000m² extension, also planned by Frowijn de Roos Architecten, is now home to a healthcare centre and serves as the new entrance to the apartment block. In this two story building there is a dispensing chemist, physicians, physiotherapists and a social welfare centre that is open to all the residents of Zeist. Das Fassadensystem UCS 65 Bei dem Projekt Torenflat kamen für die neue Fassade unter anderem modifizierte Profile der Serie USC 65 zum Einsatz. Die vollständig geprüfte und hochflexible Elementfassaden-Systemlösung, die inzwischen auch als USC 65.HI (High Insu- lation) auf dem Markt ist, ermöglicht eine große Gestaltungsfreiheit sowie die optimale Anpassung an objektspezifische Anforderungen, wie beim Torenflat. Das System USC 65.HI überzeugt durch seine gleichbleibend schmalen Ansichtsbrei- ten bis 65 mm und vielfältige, architektonisch interessante Designvarianten. Durch das umfangreiche Zubehörprogramm ist eine effiziente Realisierung unterschiedlichster Lösungen für Elementfassaden möglich.
