5113projects | In Brief ©SchücoInternationalKG,Bielefeld/GER Das neue Beratungszentrum des Dänischen Krebsvereins in Aarhus wurde ganz im Sinne des Designers und Architekten Frank Gehry um- gesetzt. Für die Ausführung des Projekts war das vor Ort ansässige Büro Cubo Arkitekter A/S zuständig. Von dem bestehenden Gebäude, das 1908 erbaut wurde und den südlichen Eingang des Krankenhaus- geländes markiert, sollte die rote Backsteinfassade erhalten bleiben. Dem dreigeschossigen Hauptgebäude mit dem transparenten Dach- geschoss ist ein komplett verglaster Erschließungskern mit einer sehr komplexen Geometrie vorangestellt. Sowohl das Dach als auch die Fas- sade umhüllen die massive Holzkonstruktion im Inneren des Hauses. Die verwendete Pfosten-Riegel-Fassade aus der Systemfamilie FW 50+ wurde zusammen mit dem AWS 57 RO System verbaut und bietet eine optimale Anpassung an die vorhandene Geometrie. The new Counseling Center of the Danish Cancer Society in Aarhus was transformed fully in accordance with the wishes of the designer and architect Frank Gehry. The locally-based practice Cubo Arkitekter A/S was responsible for the implementation of the project. The inten- tion was to retain the red brick façade of the existing building, which was built in 1908 and serves as an entrance at the southern end of the hospital site. A fully-glazed access core with a highly complex geom- etry has been placed in front of the three-storey main building with the transparent attic. Both the roof and the façade envelope the massive timber construction inside the building. The mullion/transom façade from the FW 50+ family of systems was used together with the AWS 57 RO system and offers an optimum adaptation to the existing geometry. Bei den reich geglie- derten Fassaden eines ehemaligen Geschäftshauses in der Regent Street entschieden sich Eric Parry Architects für die stilgerechte Erneuerung der großen Fensterflächen mit dem äußerst filigranen Profilsystem Janisol Arte. Das System wurde ursprünglich für die Sanierung von Industrie- und Loftverglasungen sowie von denkmalgeschützten Fenstern entwickelt. Es weist Profilansichtsbreiten von nur 25 bis 40 mm auf, bei einer Bautiefe von 60 mm, und lässt auch bei der Umnutzung vorhandenen Baubestands zu Wohnraum die Wärmeschutzverordnung problemlos einhalten. The limited creative freedom when adapting historical buildings to today’s structural requirements always poses a particular challenge for design in practice. However, a harmonious appearance should still be the principal aim. For the richly structured façades of a former business premises in Regent Street, Eric Parry Architects decided to renovate the large window areas in keeping with the original style using the extremely slimline Janisol Arte profile system. The Janisol Arte profile series has been specially de- veloped for the renovation of industrial and loft glazing, as well as the win- dows of listed buildings. It has profile face widths of just 25 to 40 mm with a basic depth of 60 mm and – even for the conversion of existing buildings into living space – still easily meets thermal insulation regulations.
