a a b b 57news and products | Schüco Showroom Task de nition and design aims The very tight design and construction schedule of four months posed great challenges for all those in- volved in the design. Clearly de ned aims proved to be a real advantage here, as reported by André Flin- terhoff: “The central task was to create a hands-on experience of the products developed by Schüco. At the same time, the showroom also had to be able to live up to the expectations our target groups al- ready have of Schüco from BAU. That is how we knew how to approach this project.” As the provi- sional deadline for completion was already xed for the end of September, there were only four months left for design and construction. The aim is for the nal building work to be completed in the rst half of 2014. Along with the conversion, an energy-ef- cient renovation of the former storage facilities is also planned. In the vicinity of the media cube and around the infrastruc- ture block, the oor is PU-coated. Three separate studios situated at the side distinguish themselves visually from the access zone with their white pe- ripheral surfaces. They present the topic areas of “Intelligent Functionality”, “Energy-Ef cient Mod- ernisation” and “SimplySmart”. The topic studios contain exhibits which are archetypal of each of the topics showcased by the studios. In addition, other product solutions and innovations are also exhibited structured metal cladding, which will replace the temporary anthracite grey surface nish. Interior design and exhibition concept The interior design and the exhibition concept were created by bahlsconcepts in cooperation with the Schüco Marketing department. Access to the show- room is constructed around a free, central axis, which leads from the outside area, through the en- trance zone and up to the Parametric Concept Fa- çade, which is the exhibition centrepiece.
