Meidoorneiland, Weesp/NL Rund 15 Kilometer östlich von Amsterdam in einem Stadtentwicklungsgebiet aus den 1960er-Jahren des Vororts Weesp reali- sierten Bakers Architecten die Wohnanlage Meidoorneiland. Das Projekt geht nicht nur programmatisch auf die Anforderungen eines differenzierten Wohnraummilieus ein. Auch städtebaulich und vom energetischen Konzept her haben die Architekten ein gelungenes Beispiel für den aktuellen sozialen Wohnungsbau in den Niederlanden geschaffen. The Meidoorneiland residential development, designed by Bakers Architecten, is located approximately 15 kilometres east of Amsterdam in a 1960s urban development area in the suburb of Weesp. The project not only responds to the demand for a dif- ferentiated living space environment in terms of its agenda; in terms of urban development and the energy ef ciency concept as well, the architects have created a successful example of social housing in the Netherlands today. 36 12 Meidoorneiland | projects © Frank Stahl, Utrecht/NL
