Green Technology for energy self-sufficient buildings with Energy³ Saving, Generating & Networking Energy

Decentralised energy generation
Decentralised energy generation

Schüco Energy³ Buildings are able to save energy, due to perfectly coordinated window, door and façade systems, and generate energy, due to a wide range of solutions for solar power and solar heating. This creates an excess of self-generated energy, which can be used by means of intelligent networking. For building functions, as well as for everyday life.

Schüco energy manager

the combination of Smart Control and Smart Storage

Schüco energy manager
Generate electricity decentrally, use it directly and store it

Using buildings to generate energy decentrally, directly on site, is particularly efficient. This is why Schüco is now using the Schüco energy manager – the combination of Smart Control and Smart Storage – to network all existing generators of solar electricity and heat in such a way that, where possible, the solar energy generated is used and stored where it is also consumed. This minimises the transportation losses, reduces costs and protects the environment.

Managing energy with the Schüco energy manager

The Schüco energy manager now intelligently connects together all the electricity and heat generating devices available decentrally. Using Smart Control, the Schüco energy manager decides when it is worthwhile to store, consume or sell electricity. The system control unit detects how much self-generated electricity is available and combines this information with data from external sources (current electricity prices, feed-in tariffs and weather information).

This results in decentralised energy management, which simultaneously regulates the consumption of self-generated power, the volume of purchased electricity and the control of regenerative heating systems. Electricity is only exported when production exceeds the storage cylinder capacity. Electricity is automatically purchased at the best price. Using Smart Storage, the energy is networked and stored between internal and external consumers and generators.

Schüco MPE thin-film modules in the BL 01 series

Innovative thin-film modules

Schüco MPE thin-film modules in the BL 01 series are characterised by their impressive performance and high fabrication quality. The microcrystalline cell technology allows optimum power output at high operating temperatures, with diffuse light or non-optimum module orientation. This ensures maximum annual outputs. Due to the positive output tolerance, the rated output is achieved or exceeded.

Key benefits
  • Maximum outputs even in high temperatures and in diffuse light
  • Rated output is achieved or exceeded
  • Higher annual outputs per kWp than crystalline PV modules
  • Individual output data on module and packaging
  • Shorter cable paths and reduced cable losses
  • Reduced installation times
  • Output data tested and results listed for each module
  • Investment security and reliable system operation
Environmental protection

Only small quantities of raw materials are needed to produce Schüco MPE thin-film modules in the BL 01 series, and the modules do not contain cadmium or lead. The energy payback period is approximately 1.5 years.

Solar shading with Schüco ProSol TF

Integrated into the Schüco ALB large louvre blade system, Schüco ProSol TF can be installed both in newbuild and renovated façades.

In addition to providing shading, Schüco solar shading units with ProSol TF also perform other functions. Solar outputs are produced by the integrated photovoltaic thin-film technology. The surfaces with degrees of transparency up to 30 % allow a clear view through and laser cutting can also be used to create designs. The multi-purpose solar shading therefore simultaneously contributes to an attractive and prestigious façade design.

With the new ALB 650 PP „Brise Soleil“ large louvre blade system, Schüco is offering the ideal combination of passive solar shading and solar energy generation in one single unit. The system can be used as canopy shading not only above windows and doors, but also as a continuous solution above ribbon windows and façades.

Solar shading with Schüco ProSol TF
  • Can be used flexibly on newbuild and renovated facades
  • Semi-transparency for views in and views out
  • Variety of design options and variable degrees of transparency due to laser cutting
  • Particularly effective use of short-wave sunlight (diffuse light)

The Schüco collector CTE 319 CH from the Compact line

The Schüco collector CTE 319 CH from the Compact line
Top quality and attractive design

The Schüco collector CTE 319 CH from the Compact line demonstrates the impressive expertise that Schüco has in collector construction. The distinguishing features of this high-quality collector are a black anodised complete aluminium frame, clear glass and an absolutely smooth absorber surface with a special coating. With a collector surface of 2.53 m2, the Schüco CTE 319 CH is ideally suited to solar installations for auxiliary heating.

Key benefits
  • Heat transfer technology with a 360° enclosed absorber pipe for highly efficient heat transfer and outstanding design
  • The 4 mm solar glass in the system frame – tested in accordance with DIN EN 12975-2 – increases resistance to hail stones
  • Clear glass with optimum angle correction factor for high solar outputs
  • Screw channel for quick installation and to take up tolerances
  • Meander pipework allows cellar ventilation and a high level of operational reliability
  • Drainage groove and ventilation slots to prevent condensation forming

The Schüco hydraulic module

The Schüco hydraulic module

The hydraulic module is designed for every conceivable system configuration. This makes it possible to cater for the precise wishes of the investors. A further highlight is the energy balance. It prevents heat loss through the storage cylinder, as only regenerative energy is stored inside it. It also runs with just one single pump. The solar energy is directly supplied to the heating system as heat.

One of five components for maximum output

The regenerative heating system (RHS) consists of five modules, which can be easily combined to make different complete systems. It can be individually configured to the size of the building, the budget and required level of energy efficiency.

The result is maximum energy efficiency at the best price – suitable for newbuilds and existing buildings.

Optimum temperature layering

Schüco fresh water storage cylinders guarantee outstanding water quality. Cylinder sizes start at 600 l and are therefore also suitable for narrow doorways and low ceilings. All Schüco 3-zone layered storage cylinders belong to the highest efficiency class for solar installations with auxiliary heating. As a result of the large heat exchanger surfaces and the storage cylinder capacity being divided into three temperature zones, they are particularly suitable for use together with Schüco heat pumps. Integrated convection control valves prevent heat loss.

Key benefits
  • Highest standards of water hygiene, as water is heated instantaneously when required by means of a stainless steel corrugated pipe heat exchanger
  • Starts at 600 l – also suitable where there are narrow doors and low ceilings
  • Solar station can be mounted on the cylinder to save space
  • Integrated convection control valves
  • 120 mm thermal insulation minimises heat loss
  • 3-zone layer separation provides optimum integration of heat pumps and greater solar outputs
  • Hot water heat exchanger with particularly large surface area – higher levels of hot water
  • Solar connections at mounting height, so that no additional pipework is necessary.
  • Easy to install

Schüco split air/water heat pump

Schüco split air/water heat pump
The split air/water heat pump

The split air/water heat pump can be combined with other heat generating devices, such as existing heating systems, and can also be operated in cascade connection, if required.

The future-proof solution for modern buildings and newbuilds

Ideal for well-insulated newbuilds. The system generates the energy required for heating and hot water exclusively from renewable energies. In summer, the solar thermal installation generates the total energy requirements. During the other months, it also supports the heating system. The energy required for heating is then generated by the highly efficient split air/water heat pump.
